Pencaitland lies on the A6093 between Dalkeith and Haddington, within easy reach of Edinburgh City centre (approx. 30 mins. by car), Edinburgh Airport (45 mins.), and Glasgow (1½ hours).

Though only 3 miles from the motorway (A1/City Bypass), the village is quiet and pleasant, with one pub, post office, petrol station/garage, shop, small supermarket and a distillery!

The studio is located in the old primary school, a listed Victorian building of great character, and there is ample private parking space available.
